No, that's an old tale from annoyed piano teachers that wanted the kids to 'learn propper manners' so to speak. Arthritis comes from drastic changes in temperature over a period of decades, and humid environement. If you want to live arthritis free move to a dry +hot climate like Arizona. Never have to worry about it again! It's the nasty side effect that nature has on some of older folk.... Snaping your fingers and/or clicking them nah! Don't worry about it. Actually snaping, clicking your fingers shows good elasticity... and a good supply of calcium in the bones.

No. I think it was a myth made up by moms who got tired of their kids doing it.
