i missed the pill on tuesday but didnt notice till today (thursday) i took the pill on the wednesday though, iv just taken another pill for today bt that means i have one extra pill what do i do with this one? am i at risk if i have sex?

If you missed a pill from week 1 or week 2, take it now that you have remembered. You are probably safe, but use backup birth control for the next week.
If you missed a pill from week 3, you have a higher risk of failure. What you should do in this case is skip the week 4 (spacer) pills and start right on a new pack as soon as week 3 is over. This may make you skip your period... that is okay, and will not hurt you. Also use a backup method of birth control for a week.
Specific instructions for missed pills for your particular brand should be on the little folded up instructions that come with every new pack of pills.

Take the missed pill today, and use back up contraception (condoms) until your period hits or until you begin the next pack of pills, whichever comes first. You are probably okay with missing one day, unless you are on a progesterone only pill. (one that has no estrogen in it)

Take it NOW.....you should be okay...as long as you're not taking the "mini" pill. Just to be sure you can use protection for a week!
