Unfortunately, there's not much you can do for a sprained or broken toe. I know, I've broken the same stupid toe 4X. Best thing to do is what you're already doing. Keep putting ice on it no more than 20 minutes at a time (skin can freezer burn) with at least 40 minutes of no ice in between and stay off your foot as much as possible.
Feel better!

I dont know about a spraigned toe, but the best thing to do for a broken toe is make an anatomical splint. Anatomical meaning other body part. What you want to do is purchase some skin tape and tape the hurt toe the one next to it with a piece of tissue or gauze in between the toes to prevent moisture from building. This will help stabilize the toe when you are walking on it. Best of luck. I have broken a toe before.

Ice is good, avoid additional strain by staying off the foot as much as possible. As the swelling recedes, gentle stretching to keep things mobile, but not to the point of pain.
