I'm looking to buy a board game for when there is family round at Christmas, (but preferably one that can also be played by just 2 people for when we don't have family round.) We already have Monopoly and Cluedo. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you. :)

This is a fantastic game and can be played just with two it is called UPWORDS it is simular to scrabble but you can put your words on top of words and gain points. Towers can be as high as five only. The good thing about this game is small words can make you mega points and you can change words like a word may be could and pop a w on top of c and make would. You can also go across/down/up like scrabble
We have the travel one as well and take it on holiday very good and lots of fun.

Dominos has always been a favorite in my family. If you get the set with the most "bones" in it... it can be used with lots of people. And it's lots of fun! :) There are a ton of ways to pay the game too, so it can be done with 1 or 2 players too.

as long as you are able to translate the regulations, how approximately TransAmerica? the assumption and the regulations are extremely common, so in basic terms an preliminary translation is mandatory. in certainty, the gamers race to connect their assigned cities with the help of utilising railroad lines. prevailing generally relies upon upon who has the suitable approach to play off the different gamers' railroads to connect their own lines. i might advise Settlers of Catan yet some verbal interaction is mandatory to commerce with different gamers. nevertheless, in case you are able to instruct your loved ones or boyfriends some words (one sheep, 2 corn, etc.) you are able to swing it. Quirkle. No language skills mandatory in any respect. that is a deceptively common tile interest of matching colorations and shapes, so your sister may well be waiting to play it. that is merely like Uno (shape/shade matching) meets connect 4 (winding up a chain of tiles) meets Scrabble (through potential to place a tile that concurrently connects a row and a column). you artwork against one yet another to make rows and/or columns of tiles that journey in shape or shade yet do not repeat. there is sufficient approach in touch to maintain the adults involved. as nicely, that is tremendously. Dominoes. No verbal interactions mandatory, and a variety of of different rule adjustments to maintain it thrilling. Backgammon. as quickly as the regulations are translated, you're good. merely organic approach. the only downside is that that is a 2-participant interest. you ought to purchase a pair of boards, even with the undeniable fact that, and function a journey.

Chess, scrabble... you'll have fun and also sharpen your brain. I also heard "cash flow 101" is a challenging one but I am not sure if it is entertaining enough.
