What kind of public transport is there in Dubai? I am interested in facts, so if you say something like "forget it", please list some arguments for a statement like that. Thanks a lot

Could you add some details about it? Are those buses frequent or not, crowded or not, comfortable or not... I am asking all of this because I read so many times here that you have to use a car or a taxi in Dubai, which I doubt, but I need more information.

you have got a very good trasport system in dubai, vey good buses and you can travel all over the places. but for the remote places frequency is less. crowd in the bus is depend on the time like peak hours offices and schools and offcourse depend on even the location you want to travel to.

Here you find some public buses which are never on time. Normaly you take a cab or use your own car. From Next year on, they will have the "pink taxis" for ladies only. Metro is coming.
The problem is that taxis are only charged by the time and not the way or by persons. Because of this, sometimes cabs refuse to take you where they expect heavy traffic in rush hours.
I don't konw why your are asking, but if you want to live here, make sure you have your own ride.

Hmmm. properly, I stay in Dubai with my kinfolk (we are Western). Transportation is a important complication whilst in comparison with the various different cities i've got been published in. consistently would desire to force my teenage young infants everywhere through fact they'd't get to the place they desire to bypass on public transit. the automobile regulations right here - public transport is in its infancy and not appreciably accessible. Taxis are certainly no longer too costly yet could be stressful to get once you like one and customarily do no longer take place once you call the dispatch (i've got in no way understood that through fact they get an added booking value..). So I propose you get a driving force's licence before you arrive, and a worldwide licences so which you will force on arrival, and the substitute your licence to a Dubai Licence. as far as being a commonplace time driving force is worried, do no longer complication approximately it - from what i will see lots of the persons on the line indexed under are first time drivers or have basically had a licence for some years.
