Everyone chooses a different time. My family starts in the first week of December. I know some people who don't set up until about two weeks before Christmas, and then again, I know people who start right after Thanksgiving. I think all of those are fine, but before Thanksgiving is too early, in my opinion.

Right after thanksgiving! : )
I remember last yr, I was pregnant and my daughter was due on Thanksgiving day......I couldn't wait.....so I thought if I put up my x mas tree and decorated it, it would make the time seem to go by faster.
I started decorating my x mas tree Nov 6th at about 6 pm. Do you know I literally went into labor at 7 pm that night! Yeah, I sat in a chair because I was feeling these awful pains and I couldn't stand. So I sat there and decorated one side of the tree, until finally the contax were a min apart (yes in less than an hr).....I finally gave in and we left for the hossy. When we came home 3 days later my newborn baby girl was welcomed to a quarter of a handsomely decorated tree lol. (it looked awful when i saw that only one part was decorated to the the max!)
Anywho, generally a few days after thanksgiving is a good time. Relax, clean up after company the day after, then the next day Deck The Halls! : )

Most people do it the day after Thanksgiving, and some wait until a few weeks up to Christmas. Since I have a toddler, the tree will not be up until VERY close to Christmas and will be taken down within the week following it.

It really depends on the person, but beginning or mid December seems to be a good time.

I decorate the Sunday after Christmas. When my kids were younger, we would have a big decorating party. We'd do up the house and get a fresh Christmas tree. My daughter's boyfriends would put it up for us and we'd all decorate it together and laugh and reminisce about other Christmas' past and have indulge in a great home cooked buffet. Now they have homes of their own to decorate but I still decorate every year on that day.

My family actually starts on Thanksgiving Day. Because so many of us are able to be together on Thanksgiving we put the tree up and everyone helps decorate it. It has become a family tradition.

Well, in the year 1995 on December 12th my mom was pregenant with me and was decorating with my older brother. As soon as they finished, her water broke. She was rushed to the hospital and had me on December 13th. Now my family of 6 decorates our house on December 12th. But a few years before I was born, my family decorated the house the day after Thanks Giving. It doesn't matter when you do it. What matters is that you're having fun with your friends and or family. Have fun decorating.
