I would probably be taken a back by the question and ask what they wanted to know for. And if the answer was ok than I might consider answering it. However I might also decide to smack the person instead for being so forward with such a personal question.

all to do in the approach to the question if you say are you wearing then no but if you were to say excuse me but this is embarrassing my mates and me have been betting and don't please don't be offended but are you wearing stocking or is it tights , and add you have lovely legs and keep talking then she will answer because she feels more at ease with you and do not laugh at any point as this will case insecurity's

If a woman came up to you to ask you if you wore boxers or briefs and what color they are, how is this any different. You need to get an education. You need to get abused by a MAN. Women dont like it either. Would you like a MAN to ask you that (even though you are a man).

I would answer him. It wouldn't hurt. Unless he was taking that opportunity to put that stinky stuff on a cloth and put over my mouth and nose to knock me out. That'd be bad. But before I passed out I'd tactfully explain the difference between tights and stockings. Everyman who will ever have a wife or little sister should know.
