I know none of us was there (???) but just from the findings reported, does anyone suspect as I do, that there is a whole lot more being hidden than revealed? It is a horrible shame to be cut down by your very own. Who had his back?

I don't think these people realize that the military originally told the family that he was killed by enemy fire. And then continued to tell them that even after all of this was known. Only recently did they tell the family the truth.

I never saw the great need for a probe. In all wars, soldiers have died from friendly fire, even before firearms were used. To carry on about it is so much waste of time - the military spends a good deal of effort trying to eliminate these through better command, control and communications (C3), but even so, the fog of war is still the master.

I don't think anything is being hidden. Reading the witness reports that were released only goes to show the depth of the tragedy, but also how desperately difficult combat situations can be, particularly in a firefight.

obviously you've never been in combat. when you're being fired upon and there is chaos all around, sometimes bad things happen. communication was bad and the position of Tillman's troops made for a situation where a friendly fire incident could occur. as for cover-up, there are things that you don't need to know. just as there are things I don't need to know and I've been there done that. how bout you?

I think the unit was overworked, short on supplies and feeling the strain. Stuff happens in combat, the family will never know 100% what went wrong to their hero son, but to drag it out thru numerous investigations is ridiculous
