i am about to get a fish tank and i was woundering what should i do to keep the tank clean not cloudy and smelly?

Buy a filter, don't over feed, don't over stock and learn about a cycle.

well I would recommend setting the tank up for 24-48 hours before hand. By setting up all the rocks, toys and filter up and running.( also if you want to add live plants( they cut down the cloudiness and recycle the fish waste). then remember the MAJOR RULE. one inch one gallon. so if your fish grows to be 10 inches you would need a ten gallon tank. to many fish in a small tank can cause it to get dirty and cloudy, it can also get your fish very sick.

get some tap water clearer and clean ur filter every 2-4 weeks
