Dang that is a tuff situation............but,
i think that i would keep the baby cause i would already be attached and the baby will be calling me mom

so i would remain real close friends with the other parent
until we can both cope with the ordeal and have both children in our lives since we have a bond that no one could imagine..

thanks

by the way LOVE your avatar

I would want both kids, but if thats not an option, I guess it would be really hard to know. Obviously I would love the child I had been caring for, but on the same note I would want to meet my biological child as well. I guess if the child was in a good environment and happy with his or her parents, I may just let them continue to raise him or her. I wouldnt want the child to be unhappy because they were taken from the only parents they have ever known. I cant really say for sure though as I would have to be faced with this problem. Ideally I would want both kids, I would never want to have to choose. Wow thats a really tough question.

I'd want the one I have!!! However, I would like to know my biological child was doing well, and visit with them. But no, how could I give up a child I had raised and loved for 18 months!!!!

I would want to keep the one I had. Once you have spent the first 18 months with a baby, there is a bond with that baby. I would not want to just give "it" back, like a TV that did not work!

18 months ,swap for the right one. If the child was older my decision would be the opposite but at 18 months you can make the swap without any significant trauma to the child.

one of my main concerns would be the medical history of both kids families, like if they need a bone marrow transplant later on, and is there a disease that is hereditary.
who can remember 18 months?
but i would try to know the other parents, and do it gradually, like go on vacation together with the money from the lawsuit, like a one month cruise.

This would not happen in this day and age...they are SOOOO careful to make sure that mom's bracelet matches the baby's,etc.

If it DID happen,I would want the baby whom I gave birth to back! And I would feel quite sad,as I would have grown quite attached to the other child.

I'd take it back. Knowing that mine was out there somewhere would drive me crazy forever. I'd keep in touch with the parents of the other baby though.

that sounds so complecated. i suppose the easier awnser is to switch back cuz if u dont ull deny the child u have the right to know its real parents and the child will resent u for that and ur own child will resent u for not wanting it

I'd go get my blood. Its just the right thing to do. I think she would still be young enough to make the transformation, but very slowly over a few months to a year.
