My periods have always been irregular...When i first started my cycle at 10 i would bleed for 2 weeks or even a month at a time... When i was 13 i was put in birth control because i was bleeding heavy and it was lasting months at a time.... My family has a history of females that have irregular periods.. my mom had to have a hestorictomy (sp?) at the age 27 i believe and im about to be 23... Right now i have been on my period for about two weeks but spotting and everything for about a month... it was showing some signs of letting up, but its not going anywhere.. also i stopped taking my birth control about May of this year because i wanted to try and have a baby... I need to know what to do? Do yall think i can even have kids at this point? Any help would be nice... I bought an ovulation kit and so far when i was off my period 2 weeks ago i wasnt ovulating... Im going to start taking pre-natal vitamins this weekend... because someone told me that helps.. Any advice?

sounds like my period except for the heavy thing, mine is so light you could hardly tell it's there. OK I know no one really wanted to know that, but anyways my point is that my periods are the same way and I have 2 boys ages 8 and 3, only I have never been on birth control of any kind and my husband and I have sex all the time. So even though I know I can have kids, it is obviously hard to do so. I hardly ever ovulate, I think. You should really go to your Dr and get a check up, make sure everything is fine down there and tell them about your period. The Dr may have something that can help you more.

I've always had irregular periods, thought not quite as severe as you. It took me over a year twice, and only two cycles the other time. It is a matter of timing and also, if you don't get pregnant in about six months, go to your doc (though you should probably talk to your doc now to get his/her opinion) and then they can do blood tests to see if you are ovulating or not and then they can prescribe something like clomid to help you ovulate as well. Good luck!

I was also very irregular at the beginning, in October I was put on Clomid 50 mg to help me ovulate, that month it worked but no pregnancy, Clomid contains 5 pills which you would take on CD 5-9, it will take 5-9 days after the last pill for you to ovulate, it helps. If I were you I would consult your ob/gyn to run some tests and see what's wrong. Don't hescitate to tell your doc. everything. Good Luck.

It sounds like you will need a doctor's help on this. I would suggest speaking with you GYN and asking what might be causing this or if it is as simple as taking something to help you fall into a regular cycle to ovulate.

How many children did your mother have? Is she still available to talk to about this? Do you have aunts or cousins with the same problem - and what have they done to reproduce? I know, so many questions, but I really think you should schedule a consult with your doctor to learn more about what is happening to you. I wish you the best of luck and do keep us posted on your progress.

First thing to do is go see your gyno or a fertility specialist to get a preconception checkup. Seems to me even though your mom had these problems, she still had kids, so unless you discover something else, you should be fine. Next get preconception advice on what to take, eat and how to live. For a full list of preconception do's and don'ts for you and your partner check www.newbabyjubilee.com and click on preconception.

Lastly, you can get support from women like yourself by visiting the above website and clicking on community.
Good luck - I wish I can know how this turned out.

That is obviously heartbreaking im so sorry. often i assume kids are too well and natural for this planet and God takes them immediately again earlier than they may be able to be corrupted. You need to mourn your toddlers of path however i do consider you must speak to any individual and that i believe whoever mentioned you need to sacrifice your busy agenda in which that is worried. Any little one might be fortunate to have you ever as a mum and that i suppose you're going to have a youngster whether or not followed or yours and you're going to provide her or him all of the love they deserve and you're going to on no account disregard your different toddlers they are going to regularly be to your middle

I would consult with your doctor. He may be able to recommend something or a specialist maybe. Your problem is probably less rare then you may be thinking about at this point. I'm sorry but the best advice I can offer is to talk to your doctor and to keep your head up. Trying to get pregnant is very stressful at times!!

Try going to a Gynecologist, he/she should know what to do, and if they don't try adoption.
