Well i dont know where you can find information, but I had one so i can tell you about it, a small insition is made right below the belly button and a pencil sized microscope with a light on it is placed inside so that the doctor can look on a screen that is set up on a special computer so he can see what is going on inside

It does not really leave a scar I have a small hair line on the inside of my belly button, you of course you have to put to sleep for this procedure. I had it done because I had been having some bad cramps and alot of bleeding and painful intercourse, I had a pelvic ultrasound done and they thought it was a cist on my overy so decided to do the laparoscopy, but really I had Endometriosis. Laparoscopy is used to identify what wrong, inside and make a diagnosis.

It was painless and only took about a week or two to heal. Not even that long they just tell you to not strain yourself though within that time

I had the same thing done, when I was 20 so I know how you feel. For me I was diagnosed with stage 2 endometriosis, and my gyno burned it off. It depends on it helping. First of all this is a procedure done to see what is going on in there, if they see a problem, they will either remove it as in my case, or they will tell you what they found and discuss your options. My post surgery pain was ok. I hurt for about 4-7 days. And its back to life in about 3-6 days. The first 2 days will be the most painful, then it tapers off from there. I don't think you are a pig, 6youare concerned for your wife, and love lifew. Out of pocket it cost me about 800, but i had no ins. at the time, but that being said, the insurance may not pay, if they determine it to be a pre-existing condition, but your dr. can make it out for them to pay, or should be able too. They told me 4-6 weeks. Hope I helped and good luck, and God bless.

1. ask your Doctor, they should have a handout on the procedure,
2.ask a nurse that works in OR. they can tell you all kind of stories, good and bad.
3. Don't worry about it I have had one for a hernia and they cut 3 1/2 to 1 inch holes and slide there tools in and do there thing and
sew you up, you go home the same day and when the drugs wear off its hurts for a couple of days. Surgery is not fun but its a lot better than the old 6 to 12 inch zipper looking scar that they used to do.

Laparoscopic surgery, also called keyhole surgery (when natural body openings are not used), bandaid surgery, or minimally invasive surgery (MIS), is a surgical technique. Medically, laparoscopic surgery refers only to operations within the abdomen or pelvic cavity. Laparoscopic surgery belongs to the field of endoscopy. It consists of a Hopkins rod lens system, that is usually connected to a videocamera (single chip or three chip), a fibre optic cable system connected to a 'cold' light source (halogen or xenon), to illuminate the operative field, inserted through a 5 mm or 10 mm canula to view the operative field. Additional 5- 10 mm thin instruments can be introduced by the surgeon through side ports. Rather than a 20 cm cut as in traditional cholecystectomy, two to five cuts of 5-15 mm will be sufficient to perform a laparoscopic removal of a gallbladder. The abdomen is usually insufflated with carbon dioxide gas to create a working and viewing space.

Google the question.
For example, go to google and in the search bar type in "info on laparascopy" and hit enter...you should have a million articles to choose from.
