Yes he's on Houston's inactive list. Bob Sura practiced last Tuesday for the first time in nearly a year. He's recovering from microfracture surgery on his knee and also had back surgery late in 2005.

He's still with Houston on the inactive list, but I think more importantly, I doubt that he'll play much this year.

First, he isn't the youngest guy out there. He's given Houston a good run during 04-05, but I doubt van gundy is going to send him on the floor much.

Secondly, Houston was always missing a decent point guard even through Stevie Franchise years. Francis is a good player and post Kidd like numbers, but like AI, he's natural position is SG. The rockets this year has Alston (though not a first string guard, but is a decend PG nonetheless) and Head (who showed a promising future when he started at PG in about 20 some games last year. ). With these two PGs, Van gundy will most likely use them before he calls for Sura.

Thirdly, Houston seems to run their offense through T-mac, so they really don't need that much of help from PGs. They need more shooters that can speard the floor for T-mac and Yao. Sura isn't known to be a great shooter which would even lessen the chances of his playing time.

Reguardless of if Sura plays or not, I don't think Houston is going to waiver him. He's still a great veteren so he can still teach a few things to younger guards and be a good practice teammate.

he's on the houston rockets' inactive list. he is still trying to get into shape and has been stepping up his rehab in the hope of returning to active duty. but its very unlikely he'll play this season.
