At six weeks, your baby should be sleeping 20 out of 24 hours a day. A three hour nap is WONDERFUL considering, at this age, they want to eat every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I wouldn't worry. As long as your baby is content and putting on weight, I'm sure your baby is fine. Babies, during the first year, grow sooooooo fast and do most of it while they are sleeping. By the time your baby is age 1, he/she should have tripled his or her birth weight.

i'm sorry to declare plainly such as you're doing each thing you are able to. With a toddler so youthful there is no longer something extra you're able to do to advance evening napping. only stressful it out and it will get easier. interior the propose time you do would desire to be sure you get some sleep or a minimum of relax during the day. toddlers' brains do no longer produce melatonin (which regulates the physique's day/evening rhythm) till 3 months previous. whilst they're newborns they supply the impression of being to seek for convenience and closeness to oldsters quite at evening. in case you're soft with it you will have him sleep interior the mattress next to you - yet given which you're feeling that it somewhat is secure. I co-slept on the ordinary get along with my 2d toddler and in no way felt he replaced into risky (I had a c-area so there is no way i'd be rolling in my sleep without understanding approximately it). I actually have a 9 week previous who's napping throught the evening (virtually each evening) already and my first toddler did an identical. existence gets plenty easier whilst they commence doing that.

nooooooooo when a baby is first born all they do is sleep and that is a good thing cause youll need a lot of sleep too. just wait till they get 4mos and up and they dont want a nap at all lol. but for real newborn should take about 2 to 3 nap a day for 1-3 hr just make sure it's not over that in the day time cause they dont know day from night and you have to teach them it's better for them to have 4 naps then for them to sleep all at once. but you are usure ask your doc. one tip sleep when your baby sleeps and good luck its better for your baby sleep while rather than your baby not to sleep while and you may have a lot of all nighters in your future so enjoy now!!!!!!!!!!

My daughter at that age slept, it seemed, close to 18-20 hours a day. During the nap you can place your baby near you in the bathroom and take a nice long bath or take a nap or if you're over-zealous do some housecleaning when you can.

No, my 2 year old has naps that long. Obviously your 6 weeks old should be sleeping more than that..

No, it is fine for your baby to nap that long. As this age it shouldn't hurt the sleep your baby gets at night. Remember, your baby is doing some serious growing right now, and needs rest to do it!
Good luck to you!
