Gestational diabetes is just caused by pregnancy hormones and goes away soon after the birth. Don't worry, it's not a reflection on how you are looking after yourself :)

You really need to talk to your doctor about this. Which test did you fail? The one hour or three hour test? The majority of pregnant women fail the one hour test (where you drink the syrupy orange stuff and wait an hour and have your blood checked). But only a small percentage of those women fail the 3-hour test. If you only failed the first one, then I wouldn't worry too much, especially if you're eating right. The changes in your body can have an effect on your blood sugar so it's pretty normal and should go away after you give birth. Best of luck!

i had this happen to me. they did a second test . which is longer and you drink more of that stuff. and it turned out i was fine. they probally will do a second test on you. and yes if it does show up positive the second time they will put you on a special diet. they thought i got it cause i did not eat enough food. lol but it does go away after birth. good luck and congrats on the baby.

If the doctor said not to worry, then do not worry. Worry and stress is bad for your pregnancy. Good luck.

gestational diabetes is very common. Listen to your doctor, it will probably go away after you give birth.
