Well...it is definately one of the most intrusive states in the world, without a doubt.

I read recently that in the district of Hammersmith there we over 14 different cameras directed at a single roundabout, from police cameras to council fine cameras to business protection cameras.

I would say, that the country is definately more big brother than it ever has been before..especially since the arrival of that paranoid egotistical PM Blair..maybe he is the CEO of endemol!! who knows!!!

So YES it is becoming a surveillance state, where as before hand there was just the usual security etc that any western state has.

It makes you wonder and begin to question whether or not it really is a liberal democratic state..or a silent dictatorship...

Absolutely. And you are allowing it to happen. Next you will be drinking cool-aid and jumping off cliffs. Same as USA. People have no balls to "just say ". You get the government you deserve.

I'm all for it. Nothing to hide, nothing to worry about. Get those CCTV's everywhere! It may keep just one more idiot off the streets. Roll-on ID cards, too, and bigger jails.
