I can just hear Kerry now, "The election results prove that Americans know that I, John Kerry, was not talking the troops, I was talking about Bush! When I become president in 2008, I, John Kerry, will continue to support our troops."

Prooves nothing-- he goofed and luckily it didn't affect the election.

People voted for a change. Most rationale people realize he was being a dolt and screwed up his speech.

I disagree. Bush milked his mistake for all it was worth. Democrats had a VERY COMFORTABLE lead all across the nation until Kerry's blooper. For example, Jim Webb had over a 6% lead over Allen before his comment (which, as you all know, evaporated and ended up being an extremely tight race).

I'm sure that if it wasn't for Kerry's idiocy (I can't believe he's left himself wide open this many times), Dems would've also taken Tennessee (lost by only 3%), and possibly the Florida governorship.

Kerry is yesterday's news -- who cares about him? He wasn't up for reelection anyway. Personally I'm glad he's basically out of contention for a second run at the Presidency. Is this this best you can come up with to make yourself feel better about losing both houses of Congress?

Regardless of the election results....Kerry was not talking about the troops. Turn the page. This is old.

You are full of it.

One statement doesn't prove anything, we all know that. How would you like it if I picked one thing you said during the last 10 years and judged you only by that statement?

But Kerry probably did disqualify himself from ever running for national office again.

Liberals know that the votes on Tuesday were about Bush, not about Kerry.

Given the resignation of Rumsfled and the scrambling in Washington, it is pretty obviousl that most Conservatives understand that , too?

What is it about you that just doesn't get it?

I don't think the election results had anything to do with the Kerry comment. I think it had alot more to do with all the corruption, Iraq, and the Rep's failure to come through for "values voters"--they didn't make any progress on banning abortion, on prayer in schools, on gay marriage, or anything else they talked about last time around.

And the conservatives continue to trash Kerry and the liberals. You people dont learn anything , do you??? Your negative partisan bickering just cost you the congress and you still do this!

Elections don,t prove definitions of individual statements.

It shows how illogical the Fright Rightists are: "If he had said 'Get us stuck in Iraq,' OK, it would have been about Bush. Therefore, since he didn't say 'us," it must be about the troops."
