Well, when my hubby said that to my son over an situation, it meant to him....We are going to have a come to Jesus meeting, son, meaning, the truth will be told or else....that else could be a beating, a spanking, a grounding, whatever, I think he got his car taken away.

In business it can mean, own up , or out you go. etc.

My husband uses the term with his employees--it's a straight honest no holds barred talk. The truth hurts and sometimes people get 'bruised' in the ego area, but they're usually for the better!
