I am constructing a very large cage for a iguana. the cage is 3x6x8. I'm at the finishing stage but I'm not sure about how much ventilation it will need.do I need to drill holes in the plexi glass? please help.

Drilling holes in plexi glass is not a fun.... Can you make the lid mesh? The UV light rays cannot pass throught plexi glass, so you'll need to find another way to get the UV light in the cage. Plus that'll help with the ventilation thing.

I would recommend at least making one of the sides with wire mesh or something of that nature. Iguanas do need ventilation. Either that or drill holes in the top, you will need to drill a bunch of them. Good luck.

Instead of putting holes in the plexiglas...which often cracks it...add floor registers (the type used for floors with central heat/air) to the sides in the wooden walls. Put two on each side on the bottom...and two on the top...or four in the back panel...one on each bottom corner...and one in each top corner. This will add some good ventilation combined with the screen mesh on top of the cage where the lights will sit...:-)
