It's not a privilege. That's permission given arbitrarily that can be withdrawn as necessary - it's like a kid having the privilege of driving their parent's car.
Every American citizen has a RIGHT to vote, if they wish. If they don't want to, they don't have to exercise that right. Many don't, not because of disinterest, but because they no longer feel the system is fair or honest. Others do not vote because they have been intimidated in some way not to exercise their right.

I personally didn't vote in this last election because I didn't like any candidates. None represented my views or addressed my concerns, and I think not voting is a bigger political expression than merely voting for the person you hate the least.

They have a lot of excuses, this year since voting for governors and Congressmen it was "THEre isn't any one I want to vote for" Yes they flustrate me but somehow they fail to see the importance of the Congress. Maybe a short civic course be mandatory for registration???

It's much more important to have INFORMED voters rather than just anyone voting to increase the numbers of voters.
The fact that Dems won as many seats as they did shows that the media has accomplished what it set out to do: pollute the air with constant bad news, ignore ANY good news, and engineer scandals within 5 weeks of an election.
The sheep of America followed the media shepherds.

because a lot of people think that their vote does not count, and that is why people don't go out and vote because they think they have no say so in politics and government
