What is the difference between aim and aol? They both run off of aol dont they?

▪ aol is 'america on-line', which is an internet service provider.
▪ aim is 'aol instant messenger', which is chat software.

They do, but people outside of the AOL network can use AIM. AOL is an internet provider you have to pay for.

AIM is a service of AOL. AIM stands for AOL instant messenger.

you can use AIM on any service provider.

AOl= america online....stinks
AIM is their instant messanger and free email which is ok except when you install it, it takes over your computer
