Figment usually, but if its a fiction novel you are writing fragments would be cool to use. Rather like that turn of phrase.

Figments = something produced by or only existing in somebody’s imagination. So figment of his/her imagination is the correct one.

Fragments = Wreckage, remains, rubble, rubbish, garbage, trash, waste. Doesn't have the same ring to it does it,lol!

Figment. I would be concerned if you said, "fragment of my imagination". It might suggest some sort of mental instability - in other words, people might think you're crazy, crazy, crazy!
