OK... lets say there were NO animals or anything with ears to hear anything. . .

The point I am trying to make is, would the tree make a sound if nothing can hear it? Surely a sound is only a sound when it's heard???

Sound is not subject to hearing.
In the kingdom of the blind would colours seize to exist?

A tree which falls down makes a sound wether we are there or not. Do you know how much explosions occur every second on the surface of the sun? Yet not hearing it doesn't mean it's not a reality.

my answer to a previous question which was -

I having been watching a movies called faces of death just to see how evil this world can be do you think iam?
sick , i dont get any enjoyment out watching people getting killed but i need to be able to deal with anything that could happen and to harden myself up to this cruel world

Answer -
If nobody saw those horrors, no-one would know. Some of them would have died, like they weren't here at all. A bit like - if a branch snaps and no-one hears it,,,,,etc.

It's basically the same principal to me.

If a volcano erupted on a remote Island inhabited by deaf people would it have made a sound? Of course ! Sound EXISTS, it does not require confirmation from a second source, such as people.Likewise light EXISTS,regardless of the fact that the blind cannot detect it.

Not according to some theories in Quantum physics. google "schrodinger's cat". This theory is dismissed by many, but supported by others. Basically it says that at the quantum level, an event must be observed to occur.
