The only danger they informed me of is a spinal fluid leak causing I guess the worst imaginable headache known to man. And I guess that is pretty uncommon. They didn't even mention getting paralyzed.

You have less then a 3% chance of being paralized with an epidural needle. Anesthesiologists are highly trained and before you are administered an epidural or intra-thecal a full medical history will be reviewed as well as exam of your spine by the anesthesiologist. They will tell you all of the risks associated with getting an epidural before you sign the release. I would suggest you express your concerns to them as they will help you feel relaxed about the whole procedure. People have this fear of the needle but truthfully when you are having contractions you will be begging for the epidural. You will not even feel the needle go in, your mind is focused on the pain of the contractions not the needle. They also numb the area before they put the epidural needle in. You will be fine and i wish you much luck

The chances arent very High. I had one b/c i had to have c-section with my daughter and they even messed mine up 3 times before they got it right and im fine. there nothing to really worry about. For me it was just the needle that scared me the most. just have to have a doctor the you can really trust in the matter of it. But ones you get the epideral its awesome you cant feel nothing not even about to move a finger i loved it. the whole c-section part i didnt like but it was that or my daughter would of died so it was so worth it.

well the chances are very slim. I have 2 kids and had it done with both of them. I do have back pains like when I wash dishes but they are rare.

I would say chances of that are slim. I have had 3 and would have another if I had another child.
If you are concerned, you should discuss this with your OB-GYN.
Good luck!
