I don't know about Michigan but I do know that it is a law in other states. Why do we need so many dumb laws? Because dumb people do dumb things and then we have to write dumb laws to protect them from themselves.

I live in Maine and don't know the answer - but if it's not a law it should be! Too many poisonous things in cigarettes to expose to a young child!

I agree that some do not use common experience yet why make this regulation while many smoke of their abode jointly as rocking the toddler to sleep. that is a shame that many understand the thank you to have toddlers yet not a clue as to the thank you to be a parent~

It may be a law, but it may also be one of the laws that is seldom enforced. Just like that "click it or ticket" seatbelt law.
