No, here is why:
They are not made to have seat belts. The seat belts would cause more damage that good. If a school bus gets into an accident with a car and there is lots of force the seat belt can crush the small childs stomach (inner organs). The car would be crushed the bus unscathed.
The seats in a school bus are tall and hold a child back into their seats (the child would not hit the windshield). The windows are made to fall outward. The only serious bus accidents happen in a roll over situation (and seat belts will not help and could trap 30 kids in a bus) or if it stalled on train tracks. Nothing else would do enought damage to a bus to warrant the risks with seat belts.

But they should have compartments under them like the Transportation Busses (Greyhound) for backpacks, books, and carry on items. The reason? Any item on a bus loose can be a projectile in any kind of accident. Then many children would get hurt. Lets prevent this first.

i think of that is a sturdy thought. i don't think of it would take them too plenty longer to get off the bus than it does now. the youngsters might understand their provide up become coming and function their seat belt undone long earlier the bus got here to an entire provide up. I additionally think of having seat belts on the bus might stay away from all those toddlers from status up jointly as the bus is going. daily once I %. my toddlers up from college we fallow 2 buses by city, and all the way by city greater or less a million/3 to a million/2 of the bus toddlers are status interior the aisle way or of their seat. Had that been my toddlers in my motor vehicle dealing with city status up i might get pulled over and fined. additionally the only harm you reported become dying. What approximately different achieveable injuries that should result from a bus accident? What if shall we are saying the bus become in a roll over accident those toddlers may well be tossed around like popcorn in a popcorn popper. broken bones, busted noses, concussion, etc all that could have been prevented with the help of the user-friendly use of a seat belt. and that i'm confident those injuries have befell.

The federal government thinks that as parents we are too stupid to keep our children safe in a car so they imposed a law telling us what kind of restraints to put our children in when we are in our personal cars. Now, if we are so stupid what makes the people who drive our precious children to school so much smarter than we are that they don't need seat belts for the kids. Of course they should put seat belts on school buses it should have been done 40 years ago.....

Yes!! but who would make sure they wore them unless the bus driver had a light for every seat that wasn't buckled? That would probably work, Buses in general all need to be redesigned, they've looked the same for like 50 years and they have always needed seatbelts.

I don't know where you live but on Long Island in NY my daughter has seat belts on the bus she takes. I would never put her in a vehicle that didn't have seat belts.

Yes, it should be compulsary. The need to protect our children far outweighs the cost of installing them.
