You can make a valcano out of two easy and cheap ways.
1: get as many newspapers as you can and rip into strips.Buy some PVA glue from art shop and water it down. A noodle pot is ideal shape for a volcano. Wet the paper with the glu and start sticking it on and around the pot it is best to place it on card so that you can spread the strips outwards at bottom to create a surround for it. One it is dry take pot out and paint. If you need it active lemonade and baking soda mixture safe a good effect.
2: A good art shop will have this MOD ROCK this is like plaster of paris (what they use for broken legs etc) all you do is wet it and cover pot leave to dry and paint this will give you a harder cast for volcano than paper one.
I hope that helps

Form the volcano itself from clay. Put baking soda in the bottom of the hole. When you're ready to demonstrate, pour vinegar in slowly and it will foam. Also a good way to clean your garbage disposal and drains!!

You need newspaper and cheap wallpaper paste, Bi-carbonate of soda and lemonade/soda water
Make the volcano shape, then put the powder in the crevice at the top and pour in the lemonade/soda water.
If you're at school, you need cheap...............everyone has a spare old newspaper or two, everyone has a bit of spare wallpaper paste and your gran will have bi-carbonate of soda.
No need to spend my dear, but a great way to impress your teacher.

When we made one for class, they never said it had to be a "working" volcano, so we made a cake. It had Malteasers as "boulders" and icing as the lava, it was fun to eat :)

All the above ideas will work if you have to produce a working one.

Good luck with your project.
