My suggestion go apply for another job,if they are chosing you so why not use chosing for employers,as a working class you cant afford to wait until they call you(unless you got saving)

It depends, I sent off an application and it took 3 weeks before they came back to me. So many people are in the job market now that HR departments usually wade through around 100 applications for each position.
They have to be careful that they are not accused of discriminatory filtering and they have to record and show (through matrixing) their justification for not taking someone on.
If it's a decent company then tey won't mind if you phone up and ask how the applications are progressing...They'll be more than happy to tell you.

If they hate you, they'll give you a manipulative speech that basically says we dont want you. If you think you nailed the interview, and the job application, they should call you within a week. At the movie theaters, it only took them 3days to reply back to me, but it was just the application. The interview was scheduled at a bad time. Well, hope you get hired for your job!

sometimes a day or so - I have had some that did not call me for a year. Once I was in my second year of University and a job that I had applied for two years earlier called me in for an interview.

Well it varies from place to place, I think it's common now for the only reply to be to that person who has successfully got the job.
What you want to do is if you have applied in writing, two or three days after give them a ring to ask if they've received your application - that way you make sure they've got it AND you put your name in their head as someone who is following up on your application.

One of your best bets is to call the next day or so to touch base with them. This sometimes shows the company that you are intrested in the job.

I would allow up to 2 weeks (some government positions take longer to reply). Sadly many companies now dont have the decency to reply if you havent been offered the position xx

That depends on how quickly they are looking to hire someone. Sometimes it takes a day, sometimes two weeks. Good luck.
