It is good for the balance of power. The Republicans had their shot and blew it. Gingrich spent his time trying to take down Clinton instead of pushing his own agenda. He lost. Hasturd (no misspelling) spent his time ignoring the indiscretions of his own party. We need checks and balances. Someone has to keep the Con Supreme Court and Neo-Con Executive Branch in check.

first, given the mistakes made by the R's (Abramahoff, Ney, Cunningham, Foley, etc.) and lack of direction in Iraq, some bloodletting was due. second, the Dems gave up their liberal agenda to run as moderates creating a catch-22: if Pilosi forces the newly elected moderate Dems to support a liberal agenda, they'll be known as one term congressmen and if Pilosi stays a moderate course, they'll be know as a do-nothing Congress

American Telephone (ATT) stock is falling today, due to media announcements that the first thing on the Democrat agenda is to stop ATT from merging with Southern Bell Telephone.
ATT is the classic "widows and orphans" stock, held by many middle-class people for retirement income. Thanks, Democrats, for your "contribution" to the American people.
