The sonic boom is a shockwave formed in the atmostphere by trailing edges of an object travelling over Mach 1. You'd have to be outside the plane and travelling so that the shock wave would pass you to hear it.

FYI, something a lot of people forget is that the speed of sound in the metal body of the airplane is MUCH faster than in air, so you can hear things going on in the back of the plane. You can also hear/ feel the transition from sub- to super-sonic flight, but it's not the boom you are hearing.

No, 'cos if you're doing Mach 2.03, or indeed any speed over Mach 1, you are travelling faster than sound, so the sound would never catch up with you.
