" guys there are so stuck on themselevs" I think we're a pretty friendly and "giving", I know I always try to show out of town guys a good time when asked. Are we really that bad guys and if so what can/are we going to do about it? Alan

I don't know about you, but everybody I have met from Dallas has a big head (not literally, but figuratively speaking).
You could be the nicest person in the world, but nobody will know it unless they give you the time of day.
Trust me, I know. When people would ask me where I'm from, I would be nervous to answer because I was born in Arkansas. It's a curse that most people have to live with. You know? I'm from Arkansas, so naturally people think I'm a redneck.
You're from Dallas, so people automatically assume that you're stuck-up.
Hope this helps; if not, feel free to email me at battendude@yahoo.com

This is real news to me...everyone I have met from Dallas is as nice as they can be....no different than anyone else. In fact, I have found Texans, in general, to be very gracious. IF someone said that to me, I would say nothing back, turn, and just walk away...talk about rude! It would seem to me that they are the ones stuck on something, be it themselves or whatever. It sounds as if you have hit a string of guys who have been said, "No thank you" when come on to! Some guys take it as an insult when it is just..."It won't work between us" I would rather have a 'No thanks" than waste a night with a dud sex partner, wouldn't you?

I think it's funny you say that because try being a guy from California. We're all whores when you travel to other states. I think the strong cities like Dallas who is known for money and oil, LosAngeles who is known for Actors, drugs, prostitution, San Francisco who is known for Gays and lesbians, well my point being even our cities carry a stereotype. I woulnd't pay attention. Usually when out of state and people comment on "people from California" I just laugh and take it with a grain salt.

WOW I could not disagree more - I used to be stationed in OKC and we went to Dallas to party a LOT and I really had a great time, everyone was so nice and accomodating. Very friendly group of people. I miss it in fact - Oh the Villiage and TMC and oh JR's......

I am from NC and I do not know anyone from Dallas. I do not judge peeps for where they are from. I am from Mt. Airy NC You can't get more back woods than that but I am not a hick or a redneck so I don't let it get me down if some one underestimates me because of where I am from. It is their problem not yours.

You would probably have better luck changing peoples viewpoints on homosexuality. It's a stigma, kinda like assuming that all us New Yorkers are loud and pushy
....SO GET THE F*CK OUTTA MY WAY...

Next time someone says that just say to them 'well let me change your mind. Hopefully you will when you get to know me'

And if they don't change their mind just put it down to their own petty small-mindedness
