Use one of those buffers that are used for polishing the paint on the rest of your car. This will get the rust off and it won't damage your rims. You can also add some of that solution that used for polishing metals.

If there is rust then the chrome is gone.

Buy some naval jelly at your local auto parts store. It's what they use on maritime vessels to remove rust. Then rub, rub, rub! Good luck!

i own a repair shop,and naval jelly works the best on any surface especially chrome,i use it a lot to keep mine looking good,wal mart sells it and all the parts stores has it,good luck i hope this help,s.

s.o.s. pads will do it , get them moist and scrub , but like it's been said , you got rust, you got no chrome, when it's all clean, put a coating on them to help reduce the inevitable

Well, if you're looking for a home remedy, try some toothpaste and a toothbrush, or scrub brush. Toothpaste is a great cleaning product for lots of things. It polishes up silver wonderfully...
