Smoking during pregnancy can lead to many complications with the birth. Smoking while pregnant causes the baby to have a low birth weight. Smoking while pregnant has been associated with learning disabilities, asthma, vision problems and some say dental problems. Truly the list goes on and on. It is in the unborn child's best interest if the mother stops smoking immediatly. There are benefits to mother as well when she stops smoking. For instance, she will be healthier and she willl be setting a proper example for her child. Studies have also shown that children who are raised in a second hand smoke environment typically are sick more often and have chronic ear infections.

Smoking during pregnancy is HORRIBLE!! Basically with every puff of that cigarette, you are polluting your baby's amniotic fluid! Not to mention the more serious effects(like that's not serious enough or something) such as causing premature babies and birth defects.

It affects the baby's birth weight and immune system. If you continue to smoke after the baby's birth you will cause him to have lung problems. Stop now.

First of all, and foremost, it's simple smoke inhalation...That's second-hand smoke getting to your child very quickly. Plus, the child's blood vessels might constrict, causing many developmental problems down the road after birth. If you're smoking, please don't!!!
