My girlfriends aunt works for the U.S Embassy in Nigeria. Not a real safe place to be right not. There has been a string of Kidnappings of British and American citizens. If I were you I would contact the Embassy or the U.S. State Department. The U.S Embassy is basically a fortified compound heavily guarded by U.S Marines. Maybe they might be able to guide you or even put you up for a few nights. I would look there first. I hope this helps and be careful.
