Pro: The minimum wage ensures that mentally disabled/challenged workers are not legally taken advantage of, in terms of pay.

Con: The economic value of a job is not changed by the minimum wage. Raising the minimum wage simply raises the prices of goods & services (inflation) and increases the attractiveness of foreign outsourcing.

The minimun wage is a great campaign issue because most voters want/expect a raise. In reality, it is a worthless promise of increased wealth. In relative, inflation adjusted terms, the minimum wage earners will still be poor and have the same buying power.

that is strictly how i imagine about elevating minimum salary. people do not imagine. Why is value of residing low priced especially states or cities, yet so severe priced in others? the answer is the minimum salary. you won't be able to easily develop one ingredient and go away each and every thing else the way it replaced into.

Notice the shares of Walmart took a big hit. Walmart will be most effected by an increase in Min. Wage. I am interested to know where your stats came from though.

PROS:

The hard working citizens are actually paid a wage that they can survive just a bit better on. which of course those who do their jobs and well deserve.

Some unqualified, unprofessional entrepreneurs may feel intimidated by the wage increase (hopefully). In turn preventing them from starting the crappy, unorganized business they planned on using to suck the very life out of you and me... by offering awful service and awful products (yeah!)

It may also promote some gifted entrepreneurs to work harder at satisfying the customer with quality products and service to make up for the wage increase in turn drumming up more business and satisfied customers.

It may help cut out those who arent skilled enough to be in business making our experience as consumers a better one

HOWEVER...

CONS:

Irresponsible employees who loathe their jobs make more money then they probably deserve. While still offering up the same crappy attitude and service as before.

Business owners take the wage increase out on the customer: producing inferior products and service in search of profit margins similar to those before the wage increase.

Worse service due to less employees being used in order to obtain a reasonable profit. In turn a negative attitude being displayed by overworked employees and frustrated business owners

The pros and cons of raising minumum wage truly depend upon the personality types of your entrepreneurs and employees
