I am a few weeks pregnant and think I may be having twins. I just have a hunch. I am a mother of a 4-yr old and I realize each pregnancy is different but I have been experiencing extreme fatigue and a little morning sickness mainly only after I eat and am showing already. With my first pregnancy I had NO TRADITIONAL SYMPTOMS aside from a missed period.

My husband's sister has been pregnant with twins twice!!

I havent been scheduled for an ultrasound just yet, but coud this sound like there is more than one baby??

Pls only serious answers possibly from women who are pregnant or have had twins. If you've had twins, how did you nkow proir to ultrasound???

well, i had a set of fraternal twins boy/girl. i kinda figured i was having twins durring a normal ob appointment. when the doctor did his normal listening of the heart beat, i thought i heard an echo. the ultra sound at around 3 months confirmed it.

normally there isn't a heart beat until around a month and a half. and you don't normally get an ultrasound until 3 or 4 months. besides, alot of pregnant women show early, with singles or twins. but for now don't worry about it, just enjoy the thought of bringing another beautiful child (or children) into the love in your home. congrats, and good luck!!

Typically with twins, you will have "twice" the amount of morning sickness. As far as showing early, it's your second baby, you will definitely show earlier because you're body is already accustomed to being pregnant. Also, you say that your husbands sister had twins, well the part of twin that runs in the family and are hereditary need to be on the mothers side of the family. In order to have twins your body needs to release two eggs instead of one.....so it's all about you and your side of the family, not your husbands. Good luck!! You're hunch could be right though, you never know!!

Sometimes they can hear two different heartbeats, the doctor will usually tell you if you are measuring bigger than you should be for how far along you are. A sonogram is the best way to know. Each pregnancy will be different, just because it is different from your first pregnancy doesn't necessarily mean twins. Most people will start showing earlier on a second pregnancy than they did on their first.

my husband is a twin. so when i was first pregnant i was gaining weight really fast, and even the doc thought their may be more than one. but it wasn't after i was 6 mos pregnant i stopped gaining weight so fast. do remember you have a good chance only if the women on your side of the family have had twins. you also have a chance if your in your 30's. if that not your case i would say no your probably not.

Sometimes they say bad morning sickness can be a sign. I was larger when I went in for my first appt. They told me I felt larger too, but we listened to the heart beat and it was one baby. Some women just swell more. It's not a good enough indication that it is twins. But you never know! Just wait to find out.

There is no way other than the "hunch" you have with twins in the family and perhaps larger than normal growth in the abdomen. Get and ultrasound and you will know for sure.

because it is your second one, you will show sooner and will notice movement sooner because you've been there done that.... your body will know when it is "time" and things will be more enjoyable, because you know what to look for.... as far as twins go.... it runs in the mother's side of the family.... but if you feel like there are two souls there, you may have twins. but i think every woman wonders if there are twins before the ultra sound.

There's really no way to tell. If you are showing quicker there's a very good chance.
