This is an honest question and I am seeking an honest answer. It isn't an attempt to bash Rebublicans, Democrats, Independents or any party affiliation, so please don't.

You are walking home from work one evening and are attacked from behind. Your attacker doesn't take your wallet or purse and run, they want to beat and then kill you.

Someone passes by and you scream and beg for help. Of course, we would hope that anyone would help but this isn't always the case. Taking into consideration political parties and what they represent, which party do you hope that this person is and why?

If you cannot compare lifes issues in this manner, no problem - don't answer. If you can, I'd like to hear your answer.

open4one,

Thank you for the laugh (laughing at your response, not at you personally). Straight forward and to the point. I couldn't say that I'd argue with you on any part of it!

E,

Its not a matter of preferring one particular party over another. Personally, I would hope that anyone would help. This is just a general question looking at the issue from a political standpoint. Since many people have pre-conceived notions of political parties in general, it would seem that this would be easy to answer based on those notions.

In your example, I would hope the passerby is a Libertarian.

Your typical Democrat would blame you for the attack.

Your typical Republican would call the police, who would be underpaid, understaffed, and arrive too late to do anything but fill out a toe-tag.

A Libertarian would recognize that your right of self-ownership is being threatened, recognize your right to defend yourself, and by extension, their right to assist in your defense, and logically conclude that it is in their own best interest to do so.

Factions get married and divorced, especially in the parliamentary system. They have children over time, but these are real nasy kids, who disown their parents. Example: neoconservativism in the US which arose out of a combination of Trotskism and liberal socialism before it morphed into a militaristic conservative movement.
