I don't know exactly what it is but it's perfectly normal, I get it too. It's kind of like thick mucus, isn't it. Your vagina keeps producing more lubrication to keep the sensitive membranes moist and the old stuff has to go somewhere.

It you notice any pain, sensitivity, redness or smell then go to your doctor.

Hey i am 3o and still some times wonder what on earth is happening down there ,but there is nothing to worry about ,same thing happened me a while back and i thought it was the thickest ever and lasted for ages ,i read later in a magazine that down there before or after you`re period it forms this discharge ,but it is healthy as its cleaning itself after p to get rid of the blood =keep everything clean and fighting off others fungi and yeast !!!
as the girl above said as long as doesn`t itch and smell really bad ,then it`s normal ,if it does then it thrush go to doctor and never be embarssed !!!
The fact that it is before you`re period is nothing to worry about either it could be different looking but it`s still doing the same cleaning and preparing for a new cycle ,it`s healthy and don`nt be frighted ,you get well used to it !!!
I bring some clean pants with me in my bag ,a santiary towel or tampons and baby wipes, with me at all times just in case period happens and you are always prepared ,at least until you get the cycle of every 4 weeks ,then you be ready .
Because you are only starting period it may be a while before you get a proper every 4 weeks cycle ,but this is normal just go with it and don`t worry if it does`nt come for a while,it`s just you`re body growing and changing from a girl to a lady !!!
Good luck and remember you can always ask you`re mum or aunt or big sis or cousin they will always help ,we have all been through it !!!!!

there is absolutely nothing wrong with you so firstly stop worrying. a womans mucus in her vagina changes throoughout the month, sometimes its clear and then it thickens. you only need to worry if it smells very srongly ot is greenish, then you prob have an infection that a course of antibiotics will clear up. dont worry about not getting another peiod, it takes time for them to become properly established and regular. best wishes sweetie x

This is completely normal - you only need to worry if there's a bad smell or if you itch down there - in which case you may have thrush which can be easily treated with cream or a pessary from the pharmacy

It is normal to get a discharge leading up to your period, this is when you are ovulating. Your period will start shortly, this is your clue it is about to start. Your periods are irregular when they first start but they will soon settle down as the months go by.

If you have it frequently during the month with pain, it is infection. If you have no pain and the colour is clear, you're fine. If the colour is greenish, it's a bad infection, yellow indicates infection as well as a thick pure white could be infection.
