i know that every year at this time, the Salvation Army and WJLB (fm 98) team up to do a Coats for Kids campaign. So I'd start there. I recently heard them broadcasting from the Southfield Salvation Army. Bless you.

In shopping malls there usually are boxes to donate coats. If you can't find any contact your local salvation army, if they can't help they will find somebody who can.
