I was just wondering, because I've heard that he can speak it pretty well, even if he sometimes trips over himself in English.

It was pretty bad in 2000, sort of like a high school student who mostly falls asleep in Spanish class. There was a pretty good improvement in 2004 although, nowhere near fluent. I heard him a year ago and again more improvement, he keeps getting better, but unless there has been a HUGE change, he couldn't be described as anywhere near fully "fluent" even now. (In all fairness, he is by far the closest thing to a "Spanish-speaking" President in the history of the United States.)

Now his little brother Jeb! Now he IS fantastically fluent in Spanish. (He once taught English down in Leon, Guanajuato) I heard him speaking on a Mexican network news show last summer about a hurricane warning in Florida and he was just talking off the cuff without even notes and he's totally fluent in Spanish all right, (he doesn't even have that really annoying accent most gringos always have!) His Mexican wife, Columba, must have been busy kicking his *** until he got it right, for sure........

the yankee President's ideas is merely too sensible. My 3 twelve months historic nephew can talk larger english. As for the Iranian president, he's easily a good proficient and severe guy. His english from what I truthfully have substantial is all good, even with the undeniable fact that demands income. even with the undeniable fact that his arabic in all fairness nicely, tremendously much larger than that often happening arabs. yet intellectually I certainly have faith the yankee's are fortunate they have have been given the fashion of effective proficient chief, can not say the equivalent approximately the president of the US.

He speaks Tex-Mex well. That's not exactly the same as Spanish,as there's far more English mixed in.

He is actually quite fluent, but from what I understand he still retains the Texas accent.

From what I hear from my friends, he speaks passable Spanish but it really isn't that good.

Although, I don't know how he would say Evildoer in Spanish maybe: doer malvado? :)
