Just as dinosauors died millions of years ago and finally became fossil fuel for us...we are only the future fuel for some greater species millions of years from now

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

It is my belief we were put on earth by God or a "higher Power" for the politically correct. To bring joy to him and to be a part of the plan he or she has for the universe. The things we do are like a stone in the pond effect...things that are seemeingly insignificant can actually cause a worl of difference for good or bad. an example : i was so sad and down one day and driving down the road i saw this intellectual type older man smiling the goofiest smile and seemed really happy, i laughed so hard ///bc it was cute to me.. that my whole day was made lighter and i forgot my sorrow. it may seem small but do you have any idea who sees you? what about small gifts u gave, words u spoke, maybe an answer you gave to someone one time months ago....it could have changed a life completely. Therefore i believe we are all part of a much bigger picture and we are all very important to GOD , furthermore we were all created ...the bible says..fearfully and wonderfully! your talent might be singing, poetry, having a stong hand to help out, or intelligence and mine may be absolutely opposite but we are all on the same team no matter how far apart we are and we are all on th esame missions. your words may be the one thing to save a life..or give an old person hope,or prepare the future. YOU ARE SO IMPORTANT TO THE BIG PICTURE GOD HAS CREATED.I WISH I COULD SEE WHAT THE BIG PICTURE WAS BUT IF I DID THEN I WOULD PROBABLY TRY TO DO SOMEONE ELSES JOB BC I BELIEVE IF U WANT IT DONE RIGHT ....DO IT YOURSELF.... HEY GOOD LUCK , AND GOD BLESS.

I believe we are here as mirrors to God so that he may visualize
himself.

He does not condemn us, he does not hate us, and he does not
lead us into evil.

If you ever have time, research the Alain Aspect experiment. Then try to understand what it means. For me it has been a revelation. I hope that you find contentment and understanding
in it, and in your relationship with the one God, creator of all the universe.

why do so many people ask that question??? any way the answer is : to eat perogies and chocolate, drink iced tea and root beer, laugh at stupid pointless things/jokes, cry over things that you have no control over, to dance in the rain, and to make yourself and others proud to be alive.
