Time is a construct of that which weaves through and binds the human experience of events & history. It accommodates the existence of physical matter in our concept of the created universe. So in truth, physical matter will cease to exist for & by itself without the idea of it moving forward or merely encountering some form of change. And time makes this possible.

In ancient times, the concept of time and its origin is the subject of worship/divinity. It (time) controls & defines the limitation of man in his earthly form. What has been done, even what has been merely pondered, cannot be held back.

But if you ponder on it, it defines the great power of man. Time is a form of divine empowerment in that man is given the opportunity to experience that which even God's hand cannot touch, because even God is beyond time. God - or at least the concept of divinity - does not exist in limitation.

Looking inside the box: It is just a measure of space from one occasion to another. It also holds society together giving us a common place to define events.

It is a measurement of space between one moment to another.
It passes so we feel the need to measure it.
We need it yet we waste it. We long for more but we can't find it.
We use it then we fail to share it with those we love the most.
We make up time then we hoard it.
We can't change it, but we endlessly try to control it.
We run out of it then blame that on what we fail to finish.

If time were free and more like me a shadow of a clock would never cross my door. *smile*

If there exists a Green's function for the differential equation describing a physical system, then the variable for that Green's function is time. Not all physicial systems permit such a Green's function or time.

something invented by man so they could easily place and relate to certain events and when they happened in correlation to others. Man can't fathom infinity to it's most extreme so they had to invent time to help them understand it
