Hmmm. Well, that does make me think!
Probably the guys, I have to say. Mostly because I imagine that early civilizations were all about that stereotype- cavemen konking their womenfolk on the head and dragging them home for wives. I can't imagine much freedoms between the ladies in that sort of environment. And like someone else said, guys have a domination complex that might allow them to wrestle their ways into sexy situations.
But at the same time, I imagine gals getting it on at home while their menfolk are away hunting . . . laying down in the woods taking a break from the gathering.
Ach, I just can't decide!! What do you think??

Before Christianity, orgies were often a finish to religious ceremonies. Wine has been around for thousands of years and it was common for everyone to get drunk and have wild sex.
The Pagan rituals were full of orgies. In fact, the reason that the Torah forbid sex between men was to make these rituals bad. The goal was to stop the orgies. It worked but has had more severe repercussions, in completely alienating homosexuals.
It is unclear whether men or women would have been the first to have same sex love. The odds are that both sexes were engaging in same sex love at the same time.

Same sex attraction among mammals is not gender specific, therefore, it would be safe to surmise that women found pleasure while men were hunting and men found it because they were away hunting. Statistically speaking, 74.7% of all males and females remain attracted to their same sex to one degree or another. So this is both natural and common.

Probably man and man, because in the animal kingdom you often see a male mount another male to display him dominance. So I'd assume that would go on with ancient man.

I would think it was guys. Guys are just naturally more sexual.
