no, you cant get a false positive. the tests pick up the "baby" hormone so you wont get a positive unless there's a baby in there

Yes, a positive test could be wrong. Theres a very low chance of a 'false positive', but there is still a chance, and things that you do could affect the test results. For example, if you are taking certain hormones, fertility medicines, you may get a false positive result on the pregnancy test.

It is very important to read the results of the test within the time frame given. For example, if it say read the results ONLY in the first 10 minutes, then dont rely on the results after the 10 minutes. The reason for this is because when the pregnancy test sits around, the urine inside it evaporates, which can cause a 'false positive' line to show up, even though you are not pregnant. But, if the test shows up positive within the first few minutes, then i would consider it positive.

most mums never believe a + result i myself always asked the gp " are you sure i am " and of cause the answer was always yes you really are, to get a positive result the hormone HAS to be there.
any doctor would tell you that a false can be wrong but not very many if any + are wrong.
good luck

never because the tests only react to the pregnancy hormone in the urine. If the hormone is not there it will not show even a faint line.

Some people claim that they were false but in actual fact what has happened is an early miscarriage which they just thought was a heavy period.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I've never heard of a false positive. There has to be a certain level of the hgc hormone in you urine/blood. So I would say that there is always a posibility that there could be a false negative but not a false positive.

Yes, a hpt that shows a positive can be wrong. The only way to be really sure is to go to the doctor and have bloodwork done!
Good luck and best wishes!

I never heard of anyone having a false positive. You can very well be pregnant, if you're not satisfied with the result, then go to the doctor.

Basically, no, you can't get a false positive but some tests show an evaporation line. Check out the website.

Yes it's possible to get a false positive. Buy another test, of a different brand, to be sure. Or call your doctor to set up an appointment. Good luck!
