I have natural fair/dark blonde (long/slightly curly) hair, fair skin and blue eyes. As I don't normally wear any makeup, and know more or less nothing about it! Any advice on what types and brands of makeup to use would be great, and also how to apply them correctly. I want just simple/natural/nude colours, so any ideas on which colours would be best for me, esp eyeshadow colours would be very helpful. Thanks

I have the same coloration as you do. Don't use all of the makeup I suggest if you don't want to, because a lot of makeup (especially if you are unsure how to put it on) will not look natural.

Base: I recommend L'Oreal True Match for liquid and powder foundation, as well as concealor. Stand under a bright light and hold the bottle against the skin on your wrist (the skin on your wrist matches the skin on your face very closely, and you won't have to find a mirror). If you are going for a natural look, just dab a tiny bit of concealor on any zits, undereye circles or redness and blend with your fingers in a circular motion.

Eyeliner: Hold up your upper eyelashes and line inside the lashline with dark brown or black eyeliner.

Eyeshadow: To determine the most natural eyeshadow color for you, stand in a bright light and use something to cast a shadow on your wrist. Find an eyeshadow the same color as the shadow on your wrist. I recommend a taupe eyeshadow. Apply it lightly with a brush just above your upper eyelid.

Mascara: Choose a dark brown mascara. Roll the brush and wiggle it side to side as you apply it. Use an eyelash comb to remove clumps, which don't look natural at all!

Blush: Choose a more peach-toned blush, even though you have a cool complexion. Pink won't look natural.

Lips: Choose a lipliner that is close to your natural lips' color and apply it to your natural lip line. If you choose to wear lipstick, blot it with 1 ply of tissue so that it won't look globby.

I hope I helped!

Go get a 3 in 1 tube its about $5 or maybe $6 squirt a little on your finger and rub on eyes (just a pea size amount so it looks natural!) then take the same amount and apply to the apples of your cheeks(the part that sticks out farthest when you smile) then dab some on lips!
(colors are any thing from pink to orange but you probably need a pinkish peach!!)

then go get a (black/brown) tube of mascara and apply to top lashes only!

this make up only enhances your natural beauty and gives you a pretty healthy glow! (its great for beginners)

Eyeshadow-stick to light tan colors, golds, and whites with a little sparkle, I always go for the loose powder and apply it with my finger. Get a good mascara but don't spend to much I always get whatever is on sale. Don't use blush it will look bad on your complexion(I have fair skin too) and don't use foundation unless you have to. Then all you need is a mocha tinted lip gloss or a peach lip gloss and that's it. Always buy wet and wild eyeshadow and bonnie bell lip gloss; it's cheap and it looks just the same.

if i were you i would use a brown eyeliner if any at all. I dont think u really need it. Mascara always looks good even if your trying to be simple, just go light on it and dont use too much. As for eyeshadows, i would try some light colors, like pink or baby purple, experiment and look for ones that go good with your skin tone!!

for one just use your natural colors. eyeshadow use light browns, lips pink, mascara i want to say black/brown. the best foundation to use would be bare minerals. it comes with everything when you buy the set at sephora. but it can be too expensice so mac and the new cover girl whipped fountation can be less expensive.
and maybe you could use really light colors for eyeshadow if you dont just want to use brown
