It's everywhere! Talk shows; Reality TV; Magazines.... it seems like if something is not contraversial, or have fights and arguments, the public won't appeal to it.
Any idea why?

I think because it gives good publicity. Once there is contraversy, the two people fighting will become so popular in the media. Not to mention, most regular joes enjoy watching. I mean, it's free entertainment. And I highly doubt that our lives are as interesting as high profile celebrities' lives.

I don't know about other people, but I enjoy annoying people sometimes. An argument is a perfect way for this. It's fun to get a reaction! ...and I don't really care if they think I am stupid for it or not. I think it's much more fun to do it myself than to watch it on television though; I don't watch television so much because I spend so much time annoying others in person.

You're right. Even people who say they don't like it find themselves glued to their screens if something controversial is happening. I think a lot of it has to do w/ the fact that we have all become so desensitized to violence, sex scandals, corruption & death because the media feeds it to us by the kegfull.

I'm not saying it's all the media's fault, but we have the power to turn the TV off & most of us don't.

Humans LOVE drama....something always has to be going on... and if nothing is going on, someone will do something stupid to get everybody all up in a rise again. Its just human nature. The best of us try to shy away from it...but now and again we all get caught up in it somehow!!

Probably because it makes their life seem "normal" if they see that others have controversy in their lives it makes them feel like they are not alone
