since 20% are done for economic reasons (that is , one is more likely to chose abortion is economy is bad, no health care or underinsured or health care & gas etc expensive, & no jobs or working 2 or 3 low paying jobs etc) so more lives are saved via democractic social programs which is the saving of 880 unborn babies a day (statistic bear this out as abortions were at the highest since Roe v Wade and lowest under Clinton.).

More unborn babies are saved from democratic policies than republican rhetoric (talking).
My brother agreed reps do nothing about abortion except talk & said he was thinking of voting dem this time (as he is fed uop with Bush & Taft (voted worst gov in all the states with 17% approval) yet in the end voted straight rep.
I'm wondering why? What are the real reasons he sticks stubbornly with this party. I suspect it's go something 2 do with money more than values as he'ds always loved money in my opinion. What could his reasons be & what are reasons of most men

that not true that it is stereotyping as more men do vote rebulican and more women vote democrats and since women outnumber men and vote in greater numbers, one could end up with democratic majority in the vote especially when even many men who are usually rebs crossover this one time due to neocons far right messups.

devlish-well, I was at one point a rep and change to dem (and was not that young)..my kids became dems when I was a rep so I guess we must be exceptiopns but then we are all real thinkers with mensa IQ's so maybe that's the difference..able to reevaluate things.

meg treehugger-good reasons although I don't think any of them fit my briother..we were dems when at home, he's very into his own mind and not a follower,

don't think he fears hell cause born again, not a selfish what you said and not into guns..I can't figure hm out although once he freaked out when I talked of it being a possibliity that being gay was genetic or environmental and even if a choice and sin no less forgiveable than his own and it's not our place to judge but God's...he became furious with my opinions..I mean furious and incredulous that I would have them and hung up on me..so maybe he's not that openminded.???

There are big changes necessary in our world, in economy, in energy, in politics etcetera. Most rep's have always done everything wrong, so they think that when they do it wrong again, they will get a different result this time. Problems can not be solved with the same ideas that have caused them in the first place. Rep's are afraid to change because they have no courage to face changing circumstances. Under UK law (Im not sure about us) a baby can be aborted at the latest time of 24 weeks, babies have been able to survive outside the womb at 22 weeks (admitadely with life support etc and the number of babies who survive at this time is fairly low), so how is it right that a baby can be aborted at 24 weeks yet a younger baby in the same part of the hospital will have doctors fighting for its life. Now just because the law says its legal to abort a baby doesnt stop the fact the baby is being killed. That said I can understand why people have abortions, and in some respects they are a necarserry evil.

Republicans are more conservative or old style in their values. With the introduction of the women's liberation movement, it's not so much that men have moved to the republican party it is more so that women have moved to the democratic party.

I think the reason people stick with a party even though they don't like what it stands for is because people don't like change. Some so much so that they won't change no matter how bad their party gets.

You normally don't see change until the next generation replaces the previous generation and even then you will only see it to a certain extent due to parents passing down their values and bigotries to their children.

I don't think it's because he is a man, I know tons of men who can't stand Bush or the republican views. I think people vote republican because either their parents raised them to and they have never thought for themselves, or they are afraid they will go to hell because the tv evangelist told them so, or they really like guns, or they are bitter, selfish rich bastards who forgot what they learned in kindergarten share and be friendly! Even though they can't know what it is like to have their bodies highjacked by an unwanted child, I know alot of men who do believe it is morally wrong to deny a woman the right to make her own decisions.

All REAL men are Republican.. It takes a real man... to have the B@lls to be one.. and it takes real women too.. to take a stand against what is popular.abortion is popular and desired for most americans.. most americans are afraid to fight for what is right.. and want to run from terrorists... Cowards... liberal Democrats are cowards.. and no morals either,,, therefore, it takes a real man to be a Republican.. and real women like me to agree with them... Thanks for you question.

If MOST MEN, voted Repub, the Dems wouldn't be in the position they are now. Nice stereotyping and hyperbole display tho.
