What should be your cervical position if you've successfully conceived?

I'm 3 days late and no period yet, but I tested with an HPT this morning with first morning urine, and it says negative. I checked my cervix, and it seems very low and soft. What can this mean? What should the cervical postion be 3 days after a missed period? Thanks!

During pregnancy the cervix rises somewhat and becomes soft, however, this can happen as early as a few days before missed period up to 2 weeks after missed period. One sign that is more helpful in predicting pregnancy is Chadwick's Sign--google it for more info. Good luck!
