alkenes r more reactive as they can undergo addition reactions too due to the presence of double bonds while alkanes can undergo only substitution reactions.alkynes r evn more reactive as they hv triple bonds.
wat is a soptier flame????

bromine test.alkene will decolourize the bromine while alkane will not.

alkanes are less reactive than alkenes. think of pka's if nothing else. the pka of an alkane is in the 50s while alkenes are much lower.

as for tests to distinguish most laboratory books have that information

Double bonds (as found in alkenes) are more reactive then sigle bonds.
