Wouldn't it be sweet to see The Cubs and The Tigers in a World Series?

They are doomed for eternity or until the Billy Goat gives it up.

They are not called the loveable losers for nothing!! As long as the cardinals keep playing at the level they have for the last few years, as long as the braves continue to compete like they have over the last 2 decades, and as long as the houston astros continue to sleep the first half of the season then put together a an amazing 2nd half of the season the chicago cubs will never even have a chance to capture a national league title much less a world series!

Maybe if the Cubs get smart and build themselves a pitcher friendly stadium like the Tigers...You don't think it's a coincidence that BB teams that play in, very hitter friendly parks(Red Sox-Cubs) don't win the World Series do you? The Colorado Rockies, will more than likely never play in a WS...

Yes I know the Red Sox won in 04, once every 80 years or so ain't that great an average...

I think Pinella is a step in the right direction for the Cubs anyway...as for the "wouldn't it be great to see the Cubs win it all" remark, it would also be great to see the Indians, Devil Rays, Orioles, Rangers, Mariners, Astros, Brewers, Nationals, Padres and Rockies win it all.
But I doubt you want the Indians to do it or the White Sox again, right? Cos they're in the same division as the Tigers...

Who the hell knows.. that team just seems etertanally snakebit right on the butt. Nothing they do ever seems to work out. They have two of the purest pitching prospects maybe EVER in wood and Prior, and neither of the guys can stay on the field.. when they finally do get to the point where you think they are actually going to the WS, and then what happens.. Steve Bartman!! and they get smoked by the Marlins LMAO.. you cant make this stuff up. I don't think it matters who owns them, because honestly, it's not like the Tribune company won't spend money, because they have.

I doubt it. The curse was put on the Cubs long before they were sold to the Tribune (1981).
Before that they were owned by the Wrigley's (of Wrigley Gum fame and namesake of Wrigley Field). The owner, P.K. Wrigley ejected the now (in)famous goat and his owner from the 1945 World Series game 4 which caused the goat's owner (Vasili Sianis) to lay the curse upon the Cubbies.
I think only Sianis' ghost can remove the curse (he died in 1970).

No Silly.......

The thing with the Cubs is that they will NEVER win the World Series. They are bound for poor play due to goats, curses and Steve Barmans.

There is really NO hope for them as their fans don't care about baseball and only attend the games because they are the equivilent of a big frat party!

GO WHITE SOX!!

The two LA guys who are buying the Tribune company have serious bucks, Steinbrenner bucks. I don't know if they will keep the Cubs or sell them off to someone in Chicago who would love to own them.

Not unless they're selling it to god.

The only one capable of turning the miracles required for the cubs to even come close.

enjoy your pennant, the tigers will not sniff another world series this decade... be happy being second since you said you had so much to be proud of.. we yankees will still be shooting for first or it will never be a successful year.. is cheater kenny rogers ready for a huge raise? he should of been tossed on his ear and the games he pitched in reversed...
